The only book I've read that was on the top ten was Breaking Dawn. I personally really liked it, but I like all of the Twilight series, so I could have just liked it for that reason. The only thing that I didn't really like about it was that it packed alot of stuff into one book. That was the only thing that I thought she could have done a little bit differently.
I think that other teens chose this book to go into the top ten because everyone loved the rest of the series, and people were very excited to get the next book. They probably thought that it was just as good as I thought it was. Stephenie Meyer is an amazing author, and people love her work, so I'm not surprised that people voted it into the top ten.
I think that it does deserve to be in the top ten because it was a very good book. After all the support that the series got, I think that it definately deserved it.

Edgar Allen Poe
I remember a few years ago when one of my teachers read us the tell-tale heart about the time of Halloween. We had to sit and listen to it for forever, I just thought that the story was weird. It was about a man that killed someone and buried him under the floorboards, but he could still hear the beating heart. It eventually drove him insane. I didn't really enjoy it because at the end we had to fill out a worksheet about it. That just ruins the enjoyment of it.
That's the only story I have ever heard of his. I expect the others to be scary or weird. The most experience I've had with horror books is mostly Goosebumps books, and they were just kinda stupid.
I think that we will most likely be reading scary stories, seeing at it is October, and getting close to Halloween.

pet's point of view
I wonder why they confine me to this small garage. It's hot during the day and cold at night. It's pitch black no matter what time it is, and all I have to do is sleep the day away. I love hearing the sound of that big door open, so I can run out to go and play. I only have a few hours out hear, so I race off to my favorite spot. The garden. There's grasshoppers a plenty, and good places to hide, there's butterflies to chase, and things to climb. Then I hear the call of my family, beconing me back to my confinement. Only twelve more hours until that garage door open again. So I race to my food dish. Great. Those gross dry nugget things again. Don't they believe in treats? Well I guess I am kind of mean to them, but it's their fault, they pet me, and hold me, and tease me, so I tease and fight back. It's night again, time to curl up on my rug to wait for the door to open again.

Skunk's Eyes
Something that I think is pretty that others might not are rocks. They look plain and ordinary on the outside, but if you take the time to crack them open, you might find something beautiful inside. Or the kind of rocks that you see in the desert. You can see all the different colors in the many layers that they have.
I think some kinds of dirt are pretty too. Like desert dirt. It has that reddish color the just looks warm and inviting. Plain old brown dirt isn't pretty to me though. It just looks like dirt. It has to be pretty colors. I don't know, it's really hard to think of something like this.

Dangerous Secret
No, I don't really remember a secret that I thought I should tell. If I did, I probably wouldn't tell, especially if it wasn't my secret to tell. If I had a secret that I thought was dangerous, I would be really scared. But it's not like old times when you could be killed for things like marrying the wrong person.
So unless you're connected with the mafia or something, and you saw a murder, and they're out to get you, or you saw something that was dangerous to see, nothing would really come of a secret. The most that would really happen was someone would be really mad at you. So secrets now can't be that dangerous.
But if I did have a secret like that, I probably wouldn't tell anybody, and depending on how dangerous it is, I would like run away or something. Or just lie about it. I don't know, it's hard to imagine something that you haven't experienced.

Juliet's Journal
I have been waiting for what seems like ages. I sent nurse this morning to get Romeo's reply on whether he will marry me or not. She said she would be back in half an hour, and she left at nine o'clock this morning. It is now noon.
I am starting to panic, what if Romeo said no, and she doesn't want to come back to tell me the bad news? No, I can't think like that. He loves me, and he will marry me... I think... Or what if she couldn't find him?
A Few Hours Later
We have just been married. I do not know what mother will think. Maybe this will finally be the end of the Capulet/Montegue rivalry. I highly doubt it though. We are debating whether we should tell anyone at all. Nurse does know, but she approves of Romeo. He is a good man, and he will take care of me.

Do You Believe In Fate?
I personally, do not really believe in fate. I think that things happen because of the choices people make. If everything was left to fate, then we wouldn't even have to make any choices, we just go with the flow.
I don't think that it's fate that people fall in love. It's the choice to meet the person and get to know them really well. It's totally your choice who you fall in love with. You may be attracted to someone, but to fall in love with them, you would have to get to know them more.
I think that the story of Romeo and Juliet just doesn't make sense, they see each other, and automatically, they are in love. I don't believe that that can really happen. I think that that was just a way for Shakespeare to make money. But that's just what I think.

Juliet's Journal
I am so excited for my parent's party tonight. I will get to meet my possible future husband. It should be a wonderful night. I promised mother that I would get to know him better. I can tell that she really wants me to marry him. I am only doing this for her.
In my opinion, I am too young for this. Mother says that some girls my age are already mothers. But I do not think I am ready for that. But what mother says, goes. I did give her my conditions though, I will not marry anyone that I do not love.
I will get to know Paris, but if I do not love him, then we shall split ways. I think mother is depending on me getting married to him. I feel she is ashamed that I am still in the house, when other girls are already married with children. We shall see how it goes tonight.

Define True Love, Do You Believe It Exists?
I personally, do believe in true love. If it didn't exist, then why would people even get married? Some people do, and find out later that their love isn't that strong, so they divorce. If true love didn't exist, wouldn't that be the case for everyone?
There are so many books out there that are based on love, like Twilight, or Romeo and Juliet. I don't think you would be able to write about it if you didn't believe it existed. People wouldn't read it if they didn't believe it either.
My parents, in my opinion, are an example of true love. I have barely ever seen them fight. They do whatever they have to for each other, and us kids. That I think is an even higher true love, when you do whatever is necessary for the ones that you love.

If I could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, it would be future sight. I could see anything that I wanted. Like grades I got on tests, or things like that. I would probably use it just for fun, there's not much that you could really use it for.
If I couldn't have future sight, then I would probably choose the power to duplicate myself. I wouldn't have to go to school or anything, I could just send the other one of me. I would make it do my homework too, although that could hardly be considered evil.
I would really like that, I could just sit at home all day... and sleep. I don't know, maybe I would like the duplicating thing more than the future sight, it seems to be more useful. I could also make my double do chores and stuff, that would be really cool. I wouldn't really have to do ANYTHING!

what do I think when I hear that we are going to read shakespeare
When I hear that we are going to read Shakespeare, I groan. Who would want to read Shakespeare? Not me! You hear people quoting him, and he sounds complicated. I've had to do a little Shakespeare before, and I am really not interested in doing it again. I've also heard that he makes up his owns words, so you have to pretty much figure out what he means.
I guess I react the way I do because it's just in teenage nature to hate Shakespeare, and just reading in general. You hear about Romeo and Juliet, how it's supposed to be a romance, but really, it is a tragedy. Who wants to hear about two teenagers being stupid and killing themselves? I really don't.
I really don't like reading all that much anyway, and if we are assigned to read the book, then it is a given that I will REALLY not want to read his works. He's an old guy too. They talked really differen back then, it's so hard to understand him. That is why I really don't want to read Shakespeare.
